DIEGO IS A GOD
SPRING
We came together.
As in simultaneously.
At the same time.
Two strangers who had never been together sexually didnât normally do that. But then again, he hadnât felt like a stranger while I had his dick in my mouth. Or while he was inside of me. Our bodies had moved together like weâd been doing it for years.
And as the two of us lay side by side in his bed, desperately trying to catch our breath, I tried to make those thoughts leave my head. Just how comfortable it had been with him. I figured it should have been at least a little awkward, but we had fallen into a pace and rhythm that needed no explanation or help.
âThat was incredible,â he said, his chest still rising and falling in rapid successionâI could see it out of the corner of my eye.
âIt was,â I agreed, turning my head to look at all of his gorgeous tanned glory. Apparently, surfing did a body good.
He angled toward me, his hand reaching out to draw lazy circles on my stomach. âYou donât regret it, do you?â he asked, and I felt myself panic.
âNot at all. Do you?â I asked because maybe he did but was too afraid to say it.
âNo. I thought it would be weird, but it wasnât.â
I felt myself smile. âI thought the same thing.â
âSpring?â he said my name like a question, his hazel eyes staring deeply into mine.
âYeah?â
âYou donât feel like a stranger,â was all he said before leaning forward and kissing me softly.
When he pulled away, breaking the kiss, I reached out, my hand cupping his cheek. âYou donât either. Iâm oddly comfortable with you.â
He nodded at my words, and I knew he felt the same way. There was something between us that we couldnât explain. Maybe it was our shared history with relationships. Or maybe it was something deeper than there were words for. I wasnât sure, but I was content with simply accepting whatever was happening between us. It was only temporary anyway. Maybe we both needed exactly this, and we were lucky enough to find it in each other.
âYou know,â I started to say, and he focused his attention back on me, âdonât think I forgot.â
âForgot what?â
I grinned and bit my bottom lip. âHow you knew Kaylee was dating.â
He blew out a breath and pretended to be embarrassed. âDang it, Spring,â he said before sitting up.
I followed his posture, propping a few pillows behind my back for support. âSpill.â
âItâs not that big of a mystery. I mean, Iâm sure you could narrow it down.â
âWhy are you making this so hard?â I teased. âSo, you still stalk your ex on social media. We all do it.â
His face paled slightly. âSee? I knew youâd figure it out.â
He sounded so ... somethingâI wasnât sure what it was.
âYou had no idea sheâd moved on?â
âNo. Not until I saw her posts of them together.â
âYou donât know him, do you?â I asked, realizing that if sheâd started dating one of his surf buddies or someone from his industry, it would be like another knife to the heart.
